How To Remotely Configure Vilos From The ISP Web Portal

Remote Configuration can help when a Vilo has been accidentally reset or to do a pre-setup on a Vilo. Here is what is needed to do a remote installation.

Vilo requirements for Remote Configuration

The Vilo(s) have been added to ISP Portal inventory

The Firmware on the Vilo is V. or higher.

Internet that is set up for DHCP (No static IP or PPPoE)

How to Remotely Configure Vilos

To start the remote installation head over to the ISP portal and log in with your account.

Once in the ISP Portal and your Vilos have been added to your inventory. Click on the “Vilo Inventory” tab on the left-hand side.

This will bring you to your Vilo Inventory, once there you will see “Remote Installation” if you do not see it, you may need to use the “Customize Columns” menu to unhide it.

To set up Vilo for remote installation click the “Configure” button if the button is grayed out that means the Vilo is not on the supported firmware version and the firmware needs to be updated.

Once the “Configure” button has been clicked you will see the remote installation menu. You will need to slide the confirmation slider and then Custom ID, SSID, and Password options will appear. Enter the Custom ID you wish to use for this configuration. Next, you can change the SSID and Password. You can leave them as the default SSID and Password or set custom ones. NOTE: Remote Configuration only supports the WAN setting of DHCP.

Next click “OK” on the remote configuration menu. This Vilo is now ready for installation. With remote configuration, the Vilo simply needs to be plugged in and connected to the modem via the WAN port. No app or other setup is required.

1. If using a 3-pack you will need to note the mac address of that Vilo as that is now the main unit of the 3-pack and will need to be plugged into the WAN.

2. Don't forget to inform the customer of the SSID and Password if you created a custom one during configuration. If you decide to give your customers access to the Vilo App they can check the SSID and Password in the app. See instructions here on how to give your customers app access.

Please note - Remote Installation can be configured before or after installation at the customer's home. When installing Vilo at the customer's home please ensure that the ethernet cable is connected to the WAN port, DHCP Configuration is being used, the firmware version is V. or higher, and the Vilo is plugged in. It will take a few minutes for the configuration to be pushed and applied.

How to change the network information:

If you want to go back and change the network information you can click the “Configured” button to edit the custom ID, custom SSID, and password for the network.
