After I connect to the Wi-Fi network in my phone settings, and go back to the app, it shows “failed to connect to Wi-Fi"”

At this stage, choose “connect” when prompted back in the app, you will be directed back to the Wi-Fi settings page of your phone. Here you can try to connect to the Vilo Wi-Fi network again. If it does not connect, then go back to Vilo app and try a few more times if one time does not fix it.  

If it is still not fixed at this stage, exit the Vilo app, close it and re-enter, redo the setup steps again and it should connect to the Wi-Fi.
